“He Leadeth Me …
“… beside the still waters.” (Psalms 23:3)
Dear Friends,
Led.
Conducted. Protected. Sustained.
By Christ.

To where?
Still water.
A place of rest. A place of peace. A place of nourishment.
Safe. Pure. Satisfying. Life giving.
He, the source of life and fountain of living waters, accomplishes all that is necessary to bring us to a place where we are sated. He cares not if it means rising before dawn to lead us out into lush dew-drenched grasses. He does not hesitate to foray across frightful deserts or crag-like paths or fight off predators. He holds the power and determination to deliver us safely to caverns full of deep, clean water.
He will ensure we arrive no matter the obstacles and impossibilities.

And this is His pledge to us—that if we come to Him, we will never thirst again.
But what if we don’t come? What if we don’t drink where and when He indicates?
It’s quite common for sheep to turn aside to drink from bacteria-infested puddles. To drink themselves into infection and death—and oft when on the way with the flock to a source of pure water.
A mistake, a choice, we are often guilty of ourselves. Hear the cry of the Shepherd in Jeremiah’s words—
“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.” Jer. 2:13

We get sidetracked. Try to satisfy our heart-hunger with pleasure or relationships or success. Insist on being masters of our own destiny or the hero of our own story. Or we are frightened, scared of the way ahead. And somehow, even though we are His, we stop following.
But only One source contains living water, and He is the only one Who can lead us to it.
Are you thirsty? Is your soul weary, sick, or in pain? Follow Christ. Trust Him … trust Him to lead you where you need to go. Trust Him to carry you when you have no strength. Trust Him to satisfy you with eternal water.
He is more than able. And He is that good.
Much love,
Kristy
